Mica
“Mica” refers to a group of sheet silicate minerals (muscovite, biotite and others) that split into flexible, elastic flakes along one perfect basal cleavage. Micas are common rock‑forming minerals in igneous and metamorphic rocks and are soft (Mohs ~2–2.5) with a pearly to vitreous lustre.
